Habitat Home Dedication: Welcome Home, Crawfords!
Congratulations to the Crawford family on their new home!!!
The father of two sons, Sam Crawford was battling the crazy real estate market for years and about ready to give up on the dream of homeownership when a friend suggested he apply for Habitat for Humanity’s Affordable Homeownership Program. He followed through, and with the program’s help he is purchasing this beautiful, new construction home with an affordable, zero-percent interest mortgage.
“Thank you all, for all of this,” said Sam, choking back tears. “Thank you all for your support, and for helping to make a dream come true.”
Approved applicants like Sam must complete 10 financial and homeownership education classes, attend monthly one-on-one budgeting sessions, and dedicate 350 hours of “sweat equity” volunteer time with Habitat.
Thank you, Richmond Habitat, for letting us participate in this home dedication ceremony. The Retex team came to this Richmond Henrico Turnpike in August, custom-cutting and installing HardiePlank siding, trim and soffit for the dormer on top of this beautiful home. It’s awesome to meet the family moving in, and we’re excited for Sam and his boys to make this place their home.
