WHAT A ROOF TUNE-UP!

This North chesterfield homeowner reached out to RETEX in mid-March 2024 wanting an estimate for replacing his roof, which he said was about 17 years old. 


RETEX’s Mark Erickson went out for the assessment, and while there he found the part of the roof over the back sunroom was particularly low-sloped, despite having shingles on it. He explained the need for a flat roof on this particular section to the homeowner, and sent him a quote later that day.


FYI, flat roofs are nearly horizontal in pitch, with the slightest slope to allow water to drain, rather than sit, on top of the roof. Shingles on the same flat section wouldn’t have the capabilities to divert water away as easily, causing potential leak issues


Fast forward: The homeowner chose RETEX to install an Owens Corning Oakridge asphalt shingle roof as well as a flat Modified Bitumen roof on the section Mark identified in early April
