While we focus on educating homeowners about their home exteriors, we also support continuing education for our team members.
So on Friday, the whole Retex team gathered to learn more about natural slate roofing!
We're extra grateful for David Layton of the Virginia Slate Company for taking the time to walk us through proper installation steps, allowing our team members to take a swing on the display board at removing slate tiles and installing new pieces. We also learned how to cut holes for the nails and shape the slate tiles, and got to spend time talking shop with company owner Cassel Adamson, too.
It was an awesome afternoon!

This Stafford homeowner reached out to RETEX in March 2023 for a roof replacement estimate. In June that year, he chose to replace his roof with RETEX, selecting Owens Corning Duration “Onyx Black” asphalt shingles.
Through Owens Corning’s Roof Deployment Project, we were able to install a new roof for Daniel Carver and his family at no charge on Tuesday, Jan. 21 in Spotsylvania, VA. As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, we supplied the labor and Owens Corning donated the materials for this new roof replacement.
