On May 31, Retex's Mark Erickson, Andy Connor, Chris Spahr, John Gordon, and Josh Lewis headed all the way to Cumberland, VA, to spend the day bundling firewood for MENO.
MENO is a nonprofit organization that helps adults who struggle with substance use disorders by providing them with residential housing, meaningful work, and an accountable and affirming community, all in an atmosphere of peace and joy.
As part of the project, MENO has a sawmill that provides work for its residents as well as volunteers. And in about 5 hours, we were able to fill 5 crates with bundled firewood that MENO will then sell to Bear Creek State Park.
We love being a part of the Greater Richmond community, and we really enjoy our volunteer days every month where we get to give back and bond with the team simultaneously.
