Flat roofs are nearly horizontal in pitch, with the slightest slope to allow water to drain, rather than sit, on top of the roof. This homeowner reached out to Retex in October 2021 after experiencing some issues between her roof and gutters. She returned to Retex almost a year later – September 2022 – to have her flat roof replaced, and these photos show the finished product (the brighter of two roofs).
In this case, this Richmond homeowner opted for a TPO, or single-ply roof. The main advantages of this flat roof are its easy installation and cleanup process; its reflectivity, which increases the energy efficiency of your home; its great performance in all weather conditions; and its resistance to punctures, tears, chemical spills, oil, grease and sunlight. The major drawback to TPO is that any puncture or tear, such as from a piercing tree limb, could threaten the entire structure.
At Retex, we aim to educate you on your roofing system so you know exactly what you’re getting when you choose to replace your flat roof with our team. It’s our goal for you to feel comfortable knowing your roof is in great hands, and we won’t run circles around you with big terms or unnecessary add-ons to your bill that you don’t understand or want.
