3 Tips To Protect Your Home This Rainy Season

April's Rains Bring May's Flowers – & Potentially Some New Roof Issues!

Make sure your roof is protected so it can keep you and your family safe and dry inside.

Here are some simple ways to guarantee you’re good to go this spring season:

1.) Get A Roof Inspection. A simple inspection can help you catch those small repairs needed before they become something more costly and damaging inside your home.

2.) Clean Out Your Gutters. Springtime brings pollen and certain seeds that can fill up and cause havoc on your gutter systems. Your gutters control how water sheds away from your home, and if they're blocked up, water can seep in underneath your shingles, entering your home and causing paint peeling or water spots to appear.

3.) Visually Inspect Your Roof & Consider Its Age. An asphalt shingle roof typically lasts between 20 and 25 years in the Richmond metro area, so if your roof is approaching this age, it may be a good idea to have its condition assessed. Things to look for from the ground include granules accumulating at the base of your gutters, blown off shingles, and shingles that are curling at the edges. These are all signs of an aging roof that is nearing the end of its life.

Our goal is to make sure your home is well protected throughout the rainy season. If you haven't had your roof inspected in a while, give our Retex team a call at 804-373-8622 or click the button below to contact our team about your complimentary roof assessment.

If your siding is 20+ years old, it’s worth getting a pro to assess it, even if it looks okay. Hidden issues can lurk beneath the surface.
